Reactions

Hezbollah Lebanon

Hezbollah Lebanon announced in a statement that Sayed Hashem Safieddin, the head of the Executive Council of this movement, was martyred in the Zionist regime attack on Beirut. In the statement by Hezbollah regarding this matter, it was stated: We offer condolences to the martyr-nurturing and mujahid Ummah, the nation of Resistance and Victory, for the martyrdom of the great leader and the great martyr of the path of Jerusalem, the head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, Sheikh Sayed Hashem Safieddin. In this statement, it was announced: Sayed Hashem has joined his brother, our highest and most precious martyr, His Excellency the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, His Excellency Hassan Nasrallah; he was for Sayed Hassan Nasrallah like Hazrat Abbas (peace be upon him) for Imam Husayn (peace be upon him). Sayed Hashem was the trusted individual and mainstay of the martyr Nasrallah in times of calamities and hardships. Hezbollah added: Sayed Hashem Safieddin spent most of his life serving Hezbollah, the Islamic Resistance, and its community; throughout his many years of noble life, with responsibility and capability, he managed the Executive Council, its institutions, and units. He was close to the mujahideen of Hezbollah, close to its popular supporters, and loved the families of its martyrs, until Allah joined him to the caravan of the martyrs of Karbala as a martyr. The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon further offered condolences to Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), Supreme Leader of the Revolution, and all fighters and supporters of the Resistance. At the end, Hezbollah renewed its pledge with this great martyr to continue the path of Resistance and Jihad until the realization of its goals in achieving freedom and victory.

Hamas

Hamas, in a statement a copy of which was provided to the Palestine Information Center, noted that while offering honorable condolences for the martyrdom of Hashem Safieddin and other pure martyrs from among the leaders and children of the Arab and Islamic Ummah who were martyred during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood and in the path of liberating Palestine, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa Mosque, we appreciate their jihad, sacrifices, and heroic roles in supporting the nation of Palestine and responding to the aggression and crimes of the Zionist enemy and supporting the legitimate Resistance and our rightful cause. Hamas emphasized in the continuation of this statement that the crimes of the Zionist regime in assassinating leaders and prominent figures of the Resistance among the nation of Palestine and the Islamic and Arab Ummah will not be able to extinguish the flames of Resistance and break the will of steadfastness and persistence against the Zionist regime and its hostile plans against the nation of Palestine and the Ummah; rather, all segments of our nation and Ummah will continue the path of Resistance until the realization of our goals in expelling the occupiers and achieving freedom and independence. At the end, Hamas, while offering greetings and seeking mercy for the martyr Sayed Hashem Safieddin and all his martyr brothers, has asked from God Almighty to include him in His vast mercy and grant him residence in the highest paradise, and grant patience and beauty to his family and brothers[2].

Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran

The text of the Leader of the Revolution's message is as follows:

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Dear youths of the Resistance Front, The righteous and self-sacrificing mujahid Sayed, His Excellency Sayed Hashem Safieddin (may Allah be pleased with him) joined the ranks of the martyrs of the Resistance and another bright star adorned the sky of jihad in the path of Jerusalem Sharif. He was one of the most prominent great figures of Hezbollah and a constant friend and companion of His Excellency Hassan Nasrallah. It was with the prudence and courage of leaders like him that Hezbollah was again able to keep Lebanon safe from the danger of disintegration and collapse and neutralize the threat of the Usurping Regime, whose wicked and oppressive army sometimes trampled even Beirut. It was the bravery and self-sacrifice of him and other commanders and mujahideen of the Nasrallah axis that removed the danger of usurpation and occupation of southern Litani, Tyre, and other cities of that region and their annexation to the usurped and occupied Palestine from Lebanon, and brought the life, property, and valuable honor of Hezbollah into the field to preserve the territorial integrity of that country, and left the aggressor and criminal Zionist regime unsuccessful.

Today, leaders like Nasrallah and Safieddin are apparently not present in this realm, but their spirit and leadership are present in the field and defend Lebanon and its defenseless people. Today too, Hezbollah is the strongest defender of Lebanon and the firmest shield against the greed of the Zionist regime, which has long aimed at the disintegration of Lebanon. The enemy tries to deny the self-sacrificing role of Hezbollah for Lebanon. The well-wishers of Lebanon should not let this false speech be heard from their throats. Hezbollah is alive and growing and will fulfill its historical role. The Islamic Republic too, as always, will help the mujahideen of Jerusalem and the resisters against the occupation of the criminal usurper gang of Palestine with Allah's permission. I congratulate and offer condolences for the martyrdom of our dear Sayed, His Excellency Safieddin, to his honorable family, relatives, and comrades-in-arms in all fronts of the Resistance[3].

And peace be upon the righteous servants of God, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, 24 October 2024.

Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The text of the President's message is as follows:

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful Template:Quran

The martyrdom of the learned ascetic and tireless mujahid, Mr. Sayyid Hashem Safieddin, head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah Lebanon, although it is a great loss for the Axis of Resistance, the nation of Lebanon, and all free people of the world, will certainly mark a new chapter of resistance and struggle against the Zionist occupiers. This great figure of the field of jihad and martyrdom, inspired by the school of Ashura, bravely dedicated his entire life to defending the oppressed people of Palestine and Lebanon and strengthening the Resistance Front, leaving behind brilliant legacies of struggle and resistance in the path of Islam and fighting against oppression and tyranny, which will remain bright and inspiring forever. The Zionist enemy, after martyring the late Secretary-General of Hezbollah Lebanon, Martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, in its own view sought to create a serious disruption in the leadership and guidance of this movement through the cowardly assassination of this great mujahid, but praise be to God, the Good Tree of Resistance will not cease to live and grow, and the blood of the martyrs will sustain this movement and uprising. Today we see that Hezbollah is more solid and resistant than before and pursues its goals more powerfully and inflicts hard blows on the body of the occupiers. I offer condolences for the martyrdom of this learned mujahid to the presence of Supreme Leader, the proud nations of Lebanon and Palestine, his comrades in the Resistance Front, his honorable family, and all free people of the world. Undoubtedly, as long as oppression, crime, and occupation continue against the oppressed nation of Palestine and Lebanon, resistance and jihad against the Zionist aggressors and their supporters will be strengthened day by day[4].
