Khidr Saqr was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. He lived in Kuwait for a period and became acquainted with the Muslim Brotherhood movement there.


Biography

Khidr Musa Ismail Saqr was born in the village of Al-Sawafir, in "Al-Batna al-Gharbiya", Palestine in 1936 AD, -"Al-Batna al-Gharbiya" is located 36 kilometers northeast of Gaza City and about 35 kilometers from it. This village was located east of Jaffaand was less than three kilometers away from it- but the Zionist occupiers destroyed it in 1948 AD. After the destruction of his village and after witnessing the slitting of the bellies of pregnant Palestinian women by the Zionist usurper, which left a deep impact on him, he moved with his family to Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.


Cooperation with the Brotherhood

He lived in Kuwait for a period and joined them at the invitation of the Muslim Brotherhood, and he describes this stage of his life as follows: "I grew up in a conservative and religious family and when I arrived in Kuwait. For a contract with a school where I worked as a teacher, I sat with the Sheikhs of the Brotherhood and I liked their ideology, so I joined this movement in the early sixties". He was one of the pioneers of the movement who raised many of its leaders there with his own hands. During his time in Kuwait, he engaged in the study of the Quran and its sciences, then he was appointed by the movement leadership to lead the supervision of the areas "Khaitan, Farwaniya, Al-Wafa', Al-Jahra', and Al-Wafrah" with an estimated area of 150 kilometers, and continued his activity and invitation. Because after assuming official position, 150 individuals affiliated with the Brotherhood arrived there, among them were members of the Hamas Movement including: Muhammad Nazzal one of the members of the Hamas Political Bureau, Khaled Mashal (Head of Hamas) and Musa Abu Marzouq (Deputy Head of the Hamas Political Bureau). Hamas believed that he had a significant share in the progress and success of the movement in his jihadist path.


Last Words

He said in an interview with the Al-Risalah website: By God, I do not lose hope with praying in Al-Aqsa Mosque and returning to my country, and I ask God to keep me on the path of Jihad and that I do not deviate.


Death

Khidr Saqr suffered from hearing impairment after several surgeries, and his body weakness and especially his visual impairment intensified to the extent that it paralyzed him, and he eventually passed away.
