Biography

Khalil Salah al-Bahtini was born on November 30, 1978 AD, in the "Al-Tuffah" neighborhood of Gaza city.


Militant Activities

In the 1990s (1990 AD), Bahtini joined the Palestinian Islamic Jihad and by participating in its national activities, became a member of its military branch and took command of one of its military formations, and after promotion from brigade leadership, became a member of the Military Council of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in the Gaza Strip. He was then appointed as the Northern Region Commander and deputy of Taysir al-Ja'bari, who was assassinated on August 5, 2022 AD, by the occupiers, and was also the representative of the Al-Quds Brigades in the joint operations room of the armed resistance factions in the Gaza Strip.

Activity in Military Industry Production

During the Second Intifada, he was active in the field of military industry production and played a key role in supporting missile launches towards the occupied territories in 1948 AD, and Zionist settlements around the Gaza Strip, especially missile attacks in 2023 AD, which were a response and reaction to the martyrdom of Khader Adnan, one of the leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, who was martyred on May 2, 2023 AD, after an 87-day hunger strike in Israel prisons.

Security and Media Activities

Bahtini participated in the establishment of the security service of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military branch of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and led the movement's military media and the development of its media system by taking measures such as establishing the artistic production company "Ru'ya".

Reactions of Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement and Hamas Movement

Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement in a statement referring to the criminal action of the Zionist regime in targeting a number of commanders of this movement in Gaza stated that full responsibility for the terrorist and cowardly crime in the Gaza Strip lies with the Zionist regime and stated: "The Palestinian response to this massacre will not be delayed and Al-Quds Brigades and other resistance groups will not fall short in taking revenge for the pure bloods and the enemy Zionist will not be able to achieve its goals through committing crimes; because the ranks of the resistance are united and integrated and its positions are firm.

Also, Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in a statement while condemning the criminal attack of the enemy Zionist on Gaza and the martyrdom of a number of Palestinians including the martyrdom of Jihad Shakir al-Ghannam, Tariq Muhammad Izz al-Din, Khalil Salah al-Bahtini, offered condolences for the martyrdom of resistance commanders in Gaza: "We offer condolences for the martyrdom of resistance commanders in Gaza and emphasize that the Zionist enemy will pay the price for its crimes and these crimes will never weaken the determination and will of the Palestinian nation to continue the path of resistance. We in Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas with pride and glory and faith in continuing the path of resistance offer condolences to the Palestine nation and the Islamic Ummah and Arab [nation] for the martyrdom of three senior commanders of Islamic Jihad namely martyr Jihad Shakir Ghannam, martyr Khalil Salah al-Bahtini and martyr Tariq Muhammad Izz al-Din and a number of other Palestinian citizens most of whom were women and children. Full responsibility for this crime and its dangerous consequences lies with the enemy Zionist occupier. We emphasize again that the crimes of this regime against the residents of Gaza, West Bank, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque will never bring security to it and cannot achieve its sinister goals and this regime will pay a very heavy price".
