Tareq Muhammad al-Salih al-Suwaidan is an Islamic researcher and trainer specializing in management and leadership, known for his books in the field of human development and his radio and television programs dealing with Islamic history, thought, and the development of individual and managerial capabilities.
Birth and early life
Tareq al-Suwaidan was born on 23 November 1953 CE in Kuwait. He is the eldest child in the family and was raised by his mother after his father's death. He is married and has three daughters and three sons.
Education
After receiving his diploma in 1970 CE, he traveled to the United States and completed high school there again. In 1975 CE, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering.
After returning to his country in 1975 CE, he was sent back to the United States in 1978 CE to continue his master's and doctorate. In 1982 CE, he received a master's degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa in Oklahoma with honors, and in 1990 CE, he obtained his doctorate from the same university. He also specialized in management and creativity and became interested in education and training here.
Intellectual orientation
He belongs to the thoughts of the Muslim Brotherhood and believes that the main focus in the Arab Islamic society should be on media and education, as these two are the basis for spreading thought and shaping awareness and educating people.
Career
Tareq al-Suwaidan has held multiple executive responsibilities and positions in various institutions in the public and private sectors. At the beginning of his career, he worked as a reservoir engineering supervisor in the Kuwait Ministry of Oil from 1975 to 1977, and after returning to Kuwait from the United States in 1992 CE, he taught at the College of Technological Studies until 2001 CE.
He founded and managed the Gulf Creativity Company for Training and Consulting, and also founded the American Creativity Academy in 1996 CE and was its director until 2001 CE.
In 1992 CE, he was elected as a board member of the Abrar Investment Group in Malaysia, and in 2001 CE, he assumed the presidency of the board of directors of the Creativity Group. Also, from 1998 CE, he presided over the board of directors of the Global Creativity Company for Artistic Production, and in 2003 CE, he assumed the presidency of the board of directors of the Awareness Center for the Development of Arab-Western Relations.
From 2006 to 2013 CE, he was the general manager of the "Al-Resalah" network, and on 17 August 2013 CE, he was removed from his position due to opposition to the military coup against Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi.[citation needed]
He is also a member of various associations, including the American Society for Training and Development, the American Management Association, the American Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association.
Preaching activities
He pays special attention to management and development issues in the Islamic world and has held numerous courses and lectures for dozens of institutions in Kuwait, the Persian Gulf, the Arab world, Malaysia, Europe, the USA, and Australia, training thousands of people in management and leadership. He has also produced dozens of radio and television programs with interactive and public content.
His television program titled "Al-Hayat Allamatni" (Life Taught Me), in which he shares his scientific and practical experiences, is very famous. In this program, he states that "Every human being has their own unique experience in life, but some experiences are different because their owners have practiced in fields of life."

Awards
In 2008 CE, the country of Bahrain awarded him the World Youth Award for Islamic actions in the media field.
