Saad al-Din Mursi Lashin was the head of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Sharqia Governorate of Egypt and was very active in inviting [people] to this movement and remained in prison for eighteen years.
Biography
He was born on 16/6/1924 AD, in the city of Hurin, Egypt, and married on 26 June 1952 AD. He obtained the Agricultural Secondary Diploma in 1942 AD, and the Higher Advanced Diploma in Agriculture in 1952 AD, and his work was in the Ministry of Agriculture and he also worked in the Money Investment Company. He was the head of the Brotherhood in the Sharqia Governorate and was very active in inviting [people] to this movement and remained in prison for eighteen years. In 1966 AD, by entering the Shura Council elections, and although it was his first experience in elections, he obtained 11,000 votes.
Collaboration with the Brotherhood
Saad Lashin became acquainted with the Muslim Brotherhood in 1945 AD, through a letter that reached him through one of his friends, and in that letter, there were words from the Brotherhood, Jihad al-Nafs, sacrifice, and other high Islamic principles. Regarding his joining the Brotherhood, he says: I knew the Brotherhood specifically in 1945 AD and one year before, in the presence of the Wafd Government, I was appointed to a job in the Ministry of Agriculture, which was later decided to be dissolved, and despite that, the Ministry of Agriculture of the new government decided to transfer all those who were employed in government positions during the Wafd government to Upper Egypt, of course I was among them who was transferred to Sohag Governorate. The number of colleagues and friends who were transferred with me was large and we were close in age. Therefore, we walked together everywhere and went together to cafes and the Muslim Youth Association until a letter from one of the friends reached me inviting [me] to the Brotherhood so we finally went there. And there they welcomed us well and after that and in September 1946 AD, I moved to Sharqia Governorate and I benefited greatly from the Brotherhood's activity there. I also met Imam Hassan al-Banna in 1945 AD, after the end of a Brotherhood party in Sohag city, which led to activity and cooperation with the Brotherhood movement.
Member of the Special Apparatus
He was one of the members of the special group that sent soldiers to the land of Egypt to later participate in carrying the flag of Jihad against Jews and occupiers, but he did not go to Palestine with those who went and all the soldiers of the special group were qualified for Jihad.
Arrest
He and his brothers in the Muslim Brotherhood were arrested and experienced torture in the prisons of Gamal Abdel Nasser.
Death
He, who was the head of the administrative office of the Muslim Brotherhood, died on 15/4/2012 AD.
