Ibrahim Salmo was born in 1919 CE in a village near Bethlehem in the Damietta Governorate. He completed his education at Al-Azhar. He began his career in education and served as the head of a religious institution.


Biography

He was born in 1919 CE in a village near Bethlehem in the Damietta Governorate. His father was a farmer, a devout man, and a custodian of the history of the Islamic Caliphate; he passed away at nearly 90 years of age. His mother came from a devout family. Hajj Ibrahim married, and God blessed him with five children.


Collaboration with the Muslim Brotherhood

After meeting Hassan al-Banna in 1934 CE, he joined the Muslim Brotherhood and commenced his activities.

The first undertaking of the Brotherhood members was to honor orphans and their widowed mothers. In 1941 CE, during a meeting with Hassan al-Banna, he became more closely acquainted with him and began working under his guidance. He was among those who established the Damietta Battalion.


In the Land of Palestine

In 1948 CE, he participated in the Palestine war, remaining in Jerusalem for six months. According to his own account, he performed prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Furthermore, in 1951 CE, he participated in the Canal War. He stated that the Brotherhood opened a training camp during this period, with Mahmoud Abdu serving as the official in charge of the Canal sector at that time. He also contributed to providing supplies during the July 1952 Revolution.


Arrest

Upon his return from the land of jihad, he was arrested in Palestine along with other companions and imprisoned in Al-Tur Prison, where he remained until his release in 1951 CE. He was arrested again two months prior to the Mansoura Incident in 1954 CE. He remained in detention until his release in 1956 CE, after which he was rearrested and held until the early 1970s, following the death of Gamal Abdel Nasser. He continued his work in the Brotherhood's call to Islam.


Death

He passed away on Monday, June 3, 2006 CE, corresponding to 5 Safar 1427 AH.
