Views

Resistance, the Best Method of Struggle

Qasim, away from ideological complexities, believes that resistance in all its military, popular, media, and political forms is the real equation and the best formula for confronting the occupation of the fake Israeli regime.

Participation of All Palestinian Parties in Solving the Palestine Crisis

He calls for expanding the party and political frameworks in Palestine, the participation of all Palestinians in a broad process of struggle against the occupiers, the formation of Arab and international support to expel the occupiers, and the establishment of a modern state and a democratic system based on complete pluralism, respecting the rights of various Palestinian thoughts, parties, and groups. He believes this cannot be achieved except through national participation, which is a duty and a strategic choice free from political motives and opportunism.

Oslo Agreement, a Real Obstacle

Hazem Qasim believes that the Oslo Agreement has failed since its inception, complicating the process of resolving the Palestine crisis and posing a real obstacle to initiating a unified national action to confront the occupation. From Qasim's perspective, although this agreement was practically voided since the Al-Aqsa Intifada, its negative effects continue intensely, and it is the reference and source of all negative repercussions of the Palestine crisis. This agreement created a flawed Palestinian political system that does not represent the people of Palestine nor is it compatible with the reality of Palestine; therefore, the state of dependency and connection with the occupation resulting from this contract must be eliminated, and this agreement must be completely annulled by the Palestinian side to begin forming a unified national action and a democratic political system.

Dispute Between Hamas and Fatah Movements

In Qasim's view, the gap between Palestinian groups, as some imagine, is nothing but a political dispute between two opposing currents, a difference of perspective between the Hamas and Fatah movements; since the first movement (Hamas) believes that the option of resistance is the best option to end the occupation. While the second movement (Fatah) considers peaceful settlement the best option to confront the occupation. According to him, this so-called peaceful settlement perspective of the Palestine crisis, the result of which is the rejection of national participation of Palestinians, will not end unless its main factor, the same exclusivist government of Mahmoud Abbas, ends.

Palestine Liberation Organization

In his thought, the Liberation Organization of Palestine is the moral home of all people of Palestine, and thus, its reconstruction with the participation of the people and all national and Islamic forces in a democratic and free path agreed upon by all parties and groups, is among the necessities and the most fundamental need of the Palestine cause.

Resistance, the Condition for the Sustainability of the Palestinian Cause

Qassim believes in the liberation of the entire land of Palestine and the return of refugees to their cities and territories in accordance with human laws and customs. He is certain that the cause of Palestine, regardless of its duration, is enduring, and that its people must live in freedom and security in their own land, like the rest of the peoples of the world. This will only be achieved through continued resistance against the Zionist project, supported by certain Arab and Islamic circles, through the comprehensive unity of the Palestinians.
