Taysir Ibrahim was a professor and head of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the Islamic University of Gaza. He became a member of the Hamas movement since its establishment in 1987 AD, and held the presidency of the judicial system of this movement. He played an important role in promotional, social, reformist, and cultural activities, such as membership in the Board of Directors of the House of Quran and Sunnah, preaching and Sharia arbitration for settlement of disputes, membership in the Association of Scholars of Palestine, and deputy head of the Fatwa section in this association. He was assassinated and martyred along with a number of his family members on October 17, 2023 AD, (25 Mehr 1402), eleventh day of the Gaza War.
Biography
Taysir Kamal Ismail Ibrahim was born on August 22, 1973 AD, in Gaza and is married.
Education
He completed his elementary and secondary education in schools in Gaza, obtained his high school diploma in 1991 AD from Khalid ibn al-Walid School, and in 1995 AD, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Law from the Islamic University of Gaza and a Master's degree in Fiqh and Usul from the same university. In 2012 AD, he graduated with a PhD in Fiqh and Usul from the International Islamic University Malaysia. He also obtained a general academic degree from the Islamic University of Gaza and a special academic degree from Al-Aqsa University. He worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Daawah at the Islamic University, Sahabi College, and Ribat College in Gaza, and held multiple responsibilities such as: Head of the Islamic Sharia Department at the Islamic University of Gaza, Coordinator of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Deputy Head of the Islamic University Southern Unit, and Head of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the University.
Militant Activities
Ibrahim joined the Hamas movement since its launch in 1987 AD and was an active member of this movement in its promotional, social, and reformist activities, and held responsibilities such as the judicial and legal official of the Hamas movement.
Cultural Activities
He was active in cultural affairs such as: social and syndicate representation, preaching and Sharia arbitration for dispute resolution, member of the Board of Directors of the House of Quran and Sunnah and member of its board in Gaza, Head of the Board of Directors of the Central Governorate, member of the Board of Directors of the Adala Arbitration Association, member of the Fatwa Committee at the Islamic University of Gaza, and member of the Association of Scholars of Palestine and deputy head of the Fatwa section in the Islamic Association.
Scientific Works
In addition to supervising university theses and participating in scientific seminars, lectures, and video sessions on legal rulings on various fiqh topics, he published numerous research articles and presented many scientific papers at scientific conferences.

Death
Ibrahim was assassinated and martyred along with a number of his family members on October 17, 2023 AD, (25 Mehr 1402), eleventh day of the Gaza War.
Hamas Reaction
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas issued a statement condoling the martyrdom of Dr. Taysir Ibrahim, head of the judicial system of this movement, who was martyred in an Israeli fighter jet attack on their home in the Gaza Strip. The movement emphasized: While condoling the martyrdom of this great mujahid, we emphasize continuing the path of resistance and the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, which is inspired by the path and method of the martyr commanders. Hamas stated that this Palestinian mujahid along with their families were martyred in the bombings of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip. Hamas asked God for mercy and forgiveness for the martyrs and speedy recovery for the wounded.
