The First International Symposium of “Islamic Unity” hold in UMA
The University of Mohaghegh Ardabili hosted the first International Symposium inviting some leading Shia and Sunni figures from Turkey and Iran.[1] Sheikh Salah- al-Din Ozgunduz, the Shiite leader of Turkey, the Friday prayer leader of the Shiites in Istanbul, and Haj Sheikh Hekmatallah Ramazani, Friday prayer leader in Hashjin, Khalkhal, were invited as key speakers in the “Unity Week” event on Tuesday, November 13, 2016.
Monologue is not acknowledged by Muslims
As reported by the Public & International Affairs of the university, Professor Goudarz Sadeghi, the chancellor of the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili, congratulated the “Unity Week”, so called because of the Birthday of Prophet Mohammad, and said that monologue has not any meaning and value among Muslims and this event is an attempt to signify this fact. He expressed his hope that holding such conferences & symposiums be a prelude to better mutual understanding, unity and solidarity of Islamic sects, and peace promoting coexistence. Muslim cleric Sheikh Salah-al-Din Ozgunduz, the Shiites leader of Turkey said the demise of Ayatollah Seyyed Abdolkarim Musavvi Ardabili and Salim Muezzinzadeh was a tragedy for Islamic world, especially Ardabil province.
Essential common belief of Muslims
Ozgunduz emphasized that the history of Shia, Imams and expert clerics is clear from any sect clashes. He added there is only one basic condition and principle in our religion and that is “There is no God except for Allah and that Mohammad is the prophet” and everyone believed in these is certainly an example of a Muslim.
Quran, the book of unity
The Friday prayer leader of Hashjin, Haj Sheikh Hekmatallah Ramazani, pointed out that the Quran is the book of unity in that it addresses and considers all Muslims as brothers of each other.
