Sayyid Amirhossein Faghihi is counted among the Martyrs of Deterrence and nuclear scientists of Iran. He was the Deputy of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran who reached martyrdom at his home in Tehran at dawn on 23 Khordad 1404 SH, corresponding to 13 June 2025, and 17 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446 AH, during the 2025 Israeli attack on Iran. He was active in the field of nuclear physics and radiopharmaceuticals and is among the scientific elites of Iran[1].
Biography
Sayyid Amirhossein Faghihi was born on 20 Shahrivar 1357 SH, in Shiraz. He spent his elementary to high school education in his birthplace and then went to Urmia University to study Physics (Nuclear specialization). He received his Bachelor's degree in 1379 SH and continued his education at AmirKabir University of Technology, Tehran.

- Full Professor at Shahid Beheshti University from 1395 SH to present;
- Teaching at Bachelor's and Master's levels in Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Engineering fields;
- Supervision and advising students at various levels.
Research Activities
Sayyid Amirhossein Faghihi conducted numerous activities in the field of nuclear physics and radiopharmaceuticals, and his works include:
- Publication of over 158 scientific articles in international journals;
- Supervision of 22 doctoral dissertations and 145 master's theses;
- Participation in national and international nuclear projects, including cooperation with CERN.
