Salah Muhammad Khalifa was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and one of the prominent members of the Egyptian Society for Nuclear Sciences and its applications, serving for several years as a board member and head of the Laboratory Center.
Biography
He was born in 1939 CE in Cairo and was a prominent member of the Egyptian Society for Nuclear Sciences. He supervised many master's and doctoral theses in his field and published numerous scientific research papers in reputable scientific journals. When the first Arab Applied Chemistry Conference was held from 1 to 5 November 1997 CE, under the supervision of Dr. Hamdi al-Bunbi, Minister of Petroleum, and Dr. Hussein Bahaa al-Din and Mufid Shahab al-Din in Cairo. From the Chemistry Section of the Scientific Professions Syndicate, Dr. Salah Muhammad Khalifa was present in the scientific committee.
Collaboration with the Brotherhood
After the incident that Gamal Abdel Nasser had with the Muslim Brotherhood in 1954 CE, their focus was on university youth, and in fact, a large number of them joined the Brotherhood, one of whom was Salah Muhammad Khalifa. He worked with the rest of the Muslim Brotherhood teaching assistants in nuclear energy, such as: Muhammad Abd al-Mati al-Jazzar, Ahmad Abd al-Halim al-Saruji, Muhammad al-Ma'mun, and Yahya Zakariya, who were reserve officers at the time, and were later arrested and tried.
Death
He remained committed to the laws of his true religion until his death on 13 April 2014 CE, corresponding to 12 Jumada al-Thani 1435 AH, and served in his field and work until the end of his life.[1]
