Ezzeddin Ibrahim was born in 1928 in Cairo. He was the former president of United Arab Emirates University and cultural advisor to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and one of the leaders of Muslim Brotherhood. After leaving Egypt, he established the Brotherhood movement in Libya. He obtained a BA in Arabic Literature from Cairo University and later received several honorary doctorates.

Education

He obtained various degrees during his lifetime, including:

  • Diploma in Education and Psychology from Ain Shams University;
  • BA in Arabic Literature from Cairo University;
  • PhD in Philosophy of Art from University of London in 1963;
  • Honorary PhD in Economics was awarded to him by University of Malaysia;
  • University of Wales in United Kingdom awarded him an honorary PhD in Art due to his role in higher education institutions.

Activities

Dr. Ezzeddin was active in educational, scientific research, administrative, and teaching fields in Egypt, Libya, Syria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, and United States, and in Qatar he worked as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. He went to Saudi Arabia and worked as a Professor of Arabic Literature and Arabic Teaching Methods in Riyadh, and also taught Islamic sciences at University of Oxford in United Kingdom and University of Michigan in United States. He authored books in Arabic language and English.

He participated in scientific councils and was an advisor to the Consultative Committee of Islamic University of Mombasa. He was a member of the Islamic Organization of Medical Sciences in Kuwait and also a member of the Consultative Committee of the Education, Science and Development Foundation of Qatar University and advisor to the Center for Assistance to Muslim Scholars in Qatar. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Persian Gulf Medical College in Ajman and also a member of the Medical Ethics Council at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi and a member of scientific councils of several Arab, European, Asian, and African universities.

Death

Finally, he died in 2010 in London.
