Bill Clinton (English: Bill Clinton), full name William Jefferson Blythe III, is an American politician and the forty-second president of the United States who served in this position from 1993 to 2001 AD. He is a member of the Democratic Party of the United States and is considered one of the prominent figures of the "New Democrats" faction.


Biography

William Jefferson Blythe III was born on August 19, 1946 AD, in the city of Hope, Arkansas. He was named after his father, William Jefferson Blythe Jr. His father, who was a traveling salesman, died in a car accident three months before his son's birth. In 1950 AD, his mother married a man named Roger Clinton who worked in car sales, and afterwards, William adopted his stepfather's surname. Clinton spent his childhood at St. John Catholic Schools and Ramble Elementary School, and then entered Hot Springs High School. During this period, he became interested in playing the saxophone and even pursued a professional career in music for a while. Clinton received his bachelor's degree from the Walsh School affiliated with the U.S. Department of State and worked for Senator Fulbright for a while. Then, receiving a scholarship, he went to Oxford College in England to continue his studies. After finishing his studies at Oxford, he received his law degree in 1973 AD from Yale Law School. He met Hillary Clinton at the same university, and the two married each other in 1975 AD.


Political activities

In 1974 AD, after one year of teaching at the University of Arkansas School of Law, Clinton became a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives elections. In the following decades, he gradually introduced himself as one of the prominent and leading figures of the New Democrats faction within the Democratic Party. Before reaching the presidency, Bill Clinton was the governor of Arkansas for 12 years and in this position was recognized as one of the youngest governors in the United States.


Presidency

Bill Clinton achieved victory in the 1992 AD U.S. presidential elections by defeating the incumbent president, George H. W. Bush, and Ross Perot who participated in the competition as an independent candidate. He is considered one of the youngest presidents in American history after Franklin Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy. Clinton served as President of the United States for two consecutive terms from 1993 to 2001 AD and played an important role in the political and economic developments of the 1990s AD in this country.
