Ahmad Mahmoud Wahbi, known by his nom de guerre "Hajj Abu Hussein Samir", was a commander of Hezbollah and its Radwan Force. He was martyred on Friday evening, September 21, 2024 (corresponding to 31 Shahrivar 1403 SH), in a missile strike by the Zionist regime using an "F-35 aircraft" on an apartment in the Al-Jamous area of Dahieh, southern Beirut. He was killed alongside several other Hezbollah commanders, including Ibrahim Aqil. His activities and actions in the war against the Israel included serving as the head of training for the Radwan Force of Hezbollah, commanding the Central Training Unit of Hezbollah, and leading operations against Takfiri attacks on the eastern borders of Lebanon and various governorates of Syria.


Biography

Ahmad Mahmoud Wahbi was born on November 1, 1964, in the village of Adloun in southern Lebanon.


Militant Activities

He joined the ranks of the Islamic Resistance at the outset of the Lebanese Resistance movement and participated in several military operations in southern Lebanon against the occupying Israel. He was captured in 1984.

Participation in Operations

Hajj Abu Hussein Samir was one of the field commanders of Hezbollah in the "Ansariya Ambush" operation in 1997, which targeted the Israeli naval commando unit "Shayetet 13" in the town of Ansariya, resulting in the deaths of approximately 12 Israeli soldiers[1].

Leadership of Hezbollah's Central Training Unit

During his tenure with Hezbollah, he assumed leadership responsibilities for the party's Central Training Unit until 2007, playing a pivotal role in developing the human capabilities of the Resistance.

Head of Training for Hezbollah's Radwan Force

He was appointed as the head of training for the Radwan Force of Hezbollah from 2012 until 2024. In that year, following the announcement of the commencement of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle and thereafter, he led the force's military operations on the Lebanese support front. Following the martyrdom of Wissam Tawil, the party leader, he assumed responsibility for the Central Training Unit until his own assassination[2].


Placement on US Assassination List

Wahbi had been present in the leadership ranks of Hezbollah since the party's establishment in the early 1980s, which led to his inclusion on terrorist lists in the US and other countries.


Martyrdom

Ahmad Mahmoud Wahbi was martyred on Friday evening, September 21, 2024 (corresponding to 31 Shahrivar 1403 SH), as a result of a missile strike by the Zionist regime using an "F-35 aircraft" on an apartment in the Al-Jamous area of Dahieh, southern Beirut.
