Abbas Hassan al-Sisi was a former member of the Muslim Brotherhood movement and is considered one of the most famous speakers of this group. Since 1948 CE, he was arrested several times and detained at various periods, serving time in prison.
Biography
He was born on 28 November 1918 CE, in the Beheira Governorate region in Egypt. He holds an industrial secondary diploma and voluntarily worked at the Military Industries Faculty under his mentor Hassan al-Banna. After graduation, he joined the Maintenance Department. He worked in the dairy industry and trade for twenty years and started his trade as a partner with his friend, engineer Youssef Nada.
Activities
- Participated in the Second World War battles in 1940 CE, in the Western Desert.
- In 1936 CE, became acquainted with the invitation of Muslim Brotherhood and Hassan al-Banna.
- In 1948 CE, he was arrested due to six-month membership in Muslim Brotherhood, then in 1954 he was detained for two years.
- In 1956 CE, he was dismissed from service and activity.
- From 1965 to 1974 CE, he was arrested again.
Revival of the Muslim Brotherhood
Abbas al-Sisi is considered one of the individuals who contributed to the revival of the Brotherhood in the seventies after being released from prison. He was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood movement for years and decided to step down from his position to create an opportunity for those who would come after him, which would cause the development and growth of this movement. He played a prominent and effective role in spreading the group's ideology outside Egypt, and thousands of youth around the world have connected with him. He is one of the first generation of the Muslim Brotherhood. He had the greatest influence in moderating the temperament and Islamic behavior of youth, especially in the city of Alexandria, where he was very keen to communicate with young people and meet them frequently through seminars and lectures.
Establishment of Dar al-Qabas Publishing
He established Dar al-Qabas Publishing, headquartered on Jawad Hosni Street in the Ibrahimieh region in Alexandria, and his office was located there, which was a destination for Islamic leaders from all over the world.

Death
He died after Tarawih prayers on Friday, the eighth of Ramadan 1425 AH, corresponding to 22 October 2004 CE.
