He is the Head of the Shura Council of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and one of the senior founders of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen.
Birth
Sheikh Abdulmajeed bin Aziz al-Zindani was born in 1942 CE in the village of al-Dhahabi, part of the al-Shi'ar district of Arhab province, one of the provinces of the Republic of Yemen; however, he is originally from Zindan.
Education
He completed his primary education in his birthplace and went to Aden for further studies. His knowledge was acquired through studying and researching legal texts and striving to understand them in light of contemporary life and scientific discoveries, which formed the basis of the scientific miracles in the Quran, one of his most important works and field of study.
He then went to the Arab Republic of Egypt to continue his university studies and was admitted to the Faculty of Pharmacy there. Due to his interest in Islamic sciences since childhood, he began studying and researching and studied there for two years. He was able to meet with senior scholars at Al-Azhar as well as with Yemeni students in Egypt and their leader, Professor al-Zubayri, which opened wide horizons for the Sheikh in understanding texts. His presence in Egypt led to his connection with the Muslim Brotherhood and being influenced by them.
Intellectual Thought
The scientific miracles of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah were among the most important scientific and intellectual concerns of Sheikh Abdulmajeed al-Zindani, turning him into one of the most prominent contemporary scholars in this field. Like other scholars of miracles, he worked to prove the precedence of Quranic scientific discoveries in many fields such as medicine, human creation, and geology. In 2004 CE, it was announced that he had discovered a cure for "HIV" using a mixture of plant extracts, which he claimed also affects other viruses and some cancer cells. Sheikh al-Zindani also participated in establishing the International Bureau of Scientific Miracles of the Quran and Sunnah in Saudi Arabia and led it. However, his disagreement with the government of Saudi Arabia led to his return to Yemen.
Activities
During his time in Saudi Arabia, he engaged in teaching, and after returning to Yemen, he undertook various jobs and responsibilities, including managing the Al-Nour Scientific Institute and teaching positions in some educational institutions. Following the removal of Abdul Rahman al-Iryani in 1967 during the 5 November movement, al-Zindani returned to Sanaa and took charge of managing the scientific affairs of the Ministry of Education and participated in teaching a number of scientific subjects, such as biology. Then in 1975 CE, he was appointed head of the Guidance Department and then appointed to the Ministry of Education.
Scientific miracles in the Holy Quran and Prophetic Sunnah were one of his most important mental concerns. He is considered one of the most prominent contemporary scientists, who strove to prove the precedence of the Quran in the contemporary era. He has provided many theories and held many discussions regarding scientific discoveries in many fields such as medicine, the creation of humans, and geology.
In 2004, he announced that he had discovered a cure for Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) by mixing plant extracts that he claimed affect viruses and some cancer cells. He confirmed that his research in this field took 15 years and he refrained from publishing it for fear of it being stolen by pharmaceutical mafias. [citation needed]
He participated in establishing the International Bureau of Scientific Miracles in the Quran and Sunnah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and afterwards assumed its presidency, but later due to differences of opinion with the Saudi government, he was forced to return to Yemen. After returning to Yemen, he established the Al-Iman University of Islamic Sciences and his work and research continued in the science of faith and miracles, as well as in advocacy and its methodology, and he received a PhD from the Islamic University of Amran.

Political Activities
He is considered one of the symbols of the Islamic movement. During his residence in Egypt, he was influenced by the Muslim Brotherhood and had connections with them, which led to his arrest by Egyptian authorities and his expulsion from the country. Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmar explicitly states in adding an article to the Yemeni constitution that Islamic Sharia is the source of all laws.
He participated and acted seriously in an effort to protect the Yemeni Revolution, which abolished the Imamate government in 1962. During his work at the Ministry of Education, he made great efforts to create broad intellectual interactions by bringing a number of prominent Arab and Muslim thinkers to Yemen.
The United States placed him on the list of individuals pursued by its security services in 2004, accusing him of supporting what it calls "terrorism," and stating that he is the "godfather" of Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda. It also accused him of financing terrorism and in 2011 asked the Yemeni government to arrest him, while the Security Council decided to freeze his assets. However, al-Zindani rejected these accusations and asked the American government to present its evidence to the Yemeni judiciary. In 2006, he supported Ali Abdullah Saleh in the presidential election against the candidate of the Joint Meeting Parties bloc, Faisal bin Shamlan.
When the revolution against Ali Abdullah Saleh began in 1390 SH (2011 CE), he supported the revolutionary youth and announced his support from the platform of Change Square, where he considered the sit-in as enjoining good and forbidding wrong and demanded that security and protective services ensure the safety of the protesters. He also asked the protesters to hold peaceful demonstrations away from violence.
Following the occupation of Sana'a city on 20 March 2015, Houthi militias attacked the home of Abdul-Majeed al-Zindani, arresting two of his guards. In early April 2015, they raided it again after his support for the military operation Decisive Storm, which was led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; this operation was supported by the international coalition against the coup of this group against the legitimacy of the Houthi group.
Return to Yemen
He returned to Yemen and participated in an effort to protect the Republican Revolution, which abolished the Imamate government in 1382 AH/1962 CE, and presented the program (Religion and Revolution) on Sana'a Radio. Professor Muhammad Mahmoud al-Zubayri was assassinated in the Bart area (a residential area in the United States located in Boone County, West Virginia)Template:Efn, while al-Zindani was beside him. He traveled to the city of Aden and took charge of managing the Al-Nour Scientific Institute in the Sheikh Othman neighborhood, and after the success of the white coup carried out by President Abdul Rahman al-Rahman, he returned to the city of Sana'a. In contrast to President Abdullah al-Sallal in 1967, known as the Movement, he took charge of managing the scientific affairs of the Ministry of Education and participated in teaching a number of scientific lessons in republican schools such as biology. He then became the head of the Guidance Department. During his work, he strove to create broad intellectual interactions by bringing a number of senior Arab and Muslim scholars to Yemen, and led the Muslim Brotherhood organization in Yemen. He was appointed to the Ministry of Education and began his life with classification and teaching, and wrote the book Tawhid with a group of scholars as a curriculum in high schools, and many of his promotional tapes and dialogues regarding the invitation letter of unbelievers were recorded, including the tape "This is the Truth," and many of his books. Also, some of his tapes were translated into several languages.

Notes
Unity until the end of the Gaza War
It was early last week when Abdul-Majeed al-Zindani, a prominent figure in Salafism and the Muslim Brotherhood, and one of the founders of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Al-Islah) party and a member of its council, emphasized in a speech the necessity of setting aside differences and the obligation of unity regarding the issue of Palestine, especially among parties and power branches in Yemen, and invited everyone to unity on this matter.
Following Abdul-Majeed al-Zindani's speech, many Yemeni Muslim Brotherhood leaders and sheikhs responded to his call and announced that until the end of the Gaza War, they would set aside differences with Ansar Allah. The first person to immediately respond to this request after al-Zindani's speech was his son, Mohammed al-Zindani. He announced in response to his critics that we have not forgotten and will not forget the events of Dammaj, Sana'a, Al-Iman University, etc., but under current conditions, we must unite against a more important obligation.....
Also, Mohammed Nasser al-Hazmi, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the government supported by Saudi Arabia, wrote in a tweet that we have extensive differences with Ansar Allah inside Yemen and are engaged in a war that burns the green and the dry; but regarding the issue of Palestine, we are united and stand in one row..... . He concludes by writing that I know some people will be upset and angry at my words, but this is a truth that anyone who refers to their own conscience will confirm.
In general, support for the movements of Ansar Allah in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden among Ansar Allah's opponents in Yemen has increased following al-Zindani's speeches. For example, Yemeni figures like Tawakkol Karman, who previously had a negative stance towards Ansar Allah's movements, have shown a negative reaction in their recent positions towards the actions and attacks by the America on Yemen and Ansar Allah bases and condemned them.
Death
Sheikh Abdul-Majeed al-Zindani, a Yemeni scholar, died on 22 April 2024 at the age of 82 in a hospital in Istanbul. He was born in 1942 in the village of Al-Dhahabi in the Al-Sha'ar district of Ibb Governorate, Yemen, and studied in Egypt, receiving a degree in Islamic Law from Al-Azhar University, and returned to Yemen after the 1967 revolution. Al-Zindani intensified his connection with the Muslim Brotherhood during his presence in Egypt, which led to his arrest and expulsion by Egyptian authorities from the university and Egypt.
Al-Zindani faced criticism from some parties due to his religious and political beliefs; for example, Major General Abdul-Salam Jahaf, a member of the Defense and Security Committee of the Houthi group, wrote in reaction to the death of Sheikh al-Zindani on his Twitter page: "Zindani died before realizing the promise of the Caliphate; he was the one who issued the fatwa for the massacre of thousands of people in the south and Saada"!
