He obtained the position of Secretary General of the Islamic Party by gaining 62 votes out of a total of 120 council members of the party. While Al-Zyoud was the candidate of the extremist movement. He was active in the Ministry of Education for 24 years. He is the Vice President of the International Association of Parliamentary Representatives Defending the Cause of Palestine and former Vice President of the National Mobilization Committee for Support of Iraq. He heads the Green Crescent Society of Jordan and has participated in the management of many charitable and social welfare institutions. He has authored several books and articles on the Islamic Movement and Parliamentary Work in Jordan. He is the current Deputy of the Jordanian Parliament and currently the Head of the Islamic Action Front Parliamentary Bloc. He is also the Head of the Fifth Council of the Islamic Action Front Party. The political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan and its third Secretary General.
