Abdul Haq Akhund is a politician from Afghanistan and a member of the Taliban.

Background

Following the victory of the Taliban against the former government of Afghanistan and the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, he was selected as the Acting Head of the Ministry of Counter Narcotics[1].

He was among the Taliban officials who administered affairs after the takeover of Kabul, although they are not very well-known.

He was responsible for the Taliban Health Committee and assisted Wahid Majroh, the Minister of Public Health of the Ashraf Ghani government. The Taliban had asked Wahid Majroh to continue his activities[2].
