Saleh Mohammed Al-Zafiri is an educator and human rights activist, and one of the founders of Al-Islah Society, which is considered part of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United Arab Emirates. He has gained prominence for his activities in the field of human rights and social reforms.
Biography
Saleh Al-Zafiri was born in 1960 in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. He pursued his studies in Sharia and Education, holding two bachelor's degrees from reputable universities.
Family
Saleh Al-Zafiri is married and the father of three children. His children are also active, particularly in supporting him and his demands in the field of human rights.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Sharia, 1999 CE, from Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University; Bachelor's degree in Education and Humanities, 1983 CE, from United Arab Emirates University.

Arrests
Saleh Al-Zafiri was arrested twice in 2012 CE due to his criticisms of the UAE security apparatus and his reformist activities.
First Arrest
On 5 March 2012, Al-Zafiri was arrested by security forces at his home in Ras Al Khaimah. He was accused of promoting anti-state thoughts and criticizing government policies, and was released after 14 days.
Second Arrest
On 29 April 2012, immediately after his release, he was arrested again. This time without any specific charges and as part of a widespread campaign against reformists, he was imprisoned for one year and subsequently convicted in court on similar charges.
Intellectual and Political Stances
As a reformist activist, Saleh Al-Zafiri has always emphasized the importance of dialogue and interaction instead of suppression. He believes that freedom of expression and human rights should be recognized in UAE society.
