Sayyid Khidr is one of the members of the first generation of the Muslim Brotherhood who enthusiastically participated in all public activities of the Muslim Brotherhood at the age of eighteen. He grew up in a poor house like the peasants of that time in the village of "al-Qunayat" _before it became a district of Sharqia Governorate_. He was born in 1931 AD, he completed elementary school and then entered high school in 1946 AD, where he became acquainted with the invitation of the Muslim Brotherhood. He traveled to Libya and worked as a teacher from 1960 AD to early 1965 AD, he also traveled to Saudi Arabia for work.

Joining the Brotherhood

Sayyid Khidr says: "In late 1946 AD, I studied at the intermediate level at 'King Farouk' School and the study period there was five years. The village in which there were two sections of the Brotherhood and from here my relations with this movement were strengthened and increased".
Regarding his connection and joining the Brotherhood, he says: "During this period, the situation of the Muslim Brotherhood in terms of freedom of action and movement was extremely extraordinary compared to what is happening now, in that small village where we lived, I remember that we had rented the ground floor of a woman's house named 'Khadra' Abu al-Laban'. To be the headquarters of the battalion, and on top of it was a large 'sign' on which was written: 'Muslim Brotherhood Battalion Center' and craftsmen, teachers and others, all gathered and worked with patience and effort, and punctuality and precision in them was something that distinguished us from others.

Dissolution of the Muslim Brotherhood

In this period, political fluctuations began, in 1948, following the decision to dissolve the Muslim Brotherhood, police forces raided the battalion headquarters and confiscated all books, papers, documents and tools available there and there was no security. Precautionary measures were taken and several meetings were held. Sayyid Khidr says: After that, all our meetings were held at the workplace and in secret, the Brotherhood's activity did not stop under any circumstances, even with the decision of dissolution, trial, death sentence, etc. and it was a difficult time for the people. I remember that my brother Abdel Moneim Khidr was arrested and sentenced to ten years for him and also for brother Ali Mara'i and after a while brother Ibrahim al-Ashqar was arrested. As both were arrested and tortured severely, they were forced to say that Sayyid Khidr is the student representative, I informed my father and prepared myself for arrest. But praise be to God nothing happened, after a while I was summoned and asked a few questions and questioned and the matter ended.

Activity at the University

After the revolution in that period, he joined the Faculty of Science at Cairo University and witnessed the student work of the Brotherhood there and there were decisive positions for the Brotherhood against the Communists. Where the presence of the young Brothers of the Brotherhood was strong and it was a sensitive stage for all Egypt. The Brotherhood youth were on the front lines and I remember that there were training camps inside Cairo University to train guerrilla students to confront the British in the Canal Zone after the revolution. With them was brother Muhammad Salim Jabarah, he was a student at the Faculty of Arts and was strong and carried the "al-Baram" cannon which is a heavy cannon that is placed on the ground with one hand and shoots bullets into the air.
