Khalid Kindo, member of the Association of Scholars of Syria, member of the Islamic Council of Syria, and former member of the International Union of Muslims. He has participated and spoken in many scientific and religious seminars against Bashar al-Assad and the central government of Syria. ISIS tried to eliminate him, and Al-Nusra attempted to kidnap him.


Biography

Khalid Kindo was born and raised in the city of Banias, affiliated with the city of Tartous on the coast of Syria, in the year 1958 AD in a Muslim family committed to the rulings of religion and the teachings of Islamic Sharia. He completed his high school period in 1974/1975 AD; then he entered the military college to become an officer in the Syrian Arab Army, then in the eighties he left the army for certain reasons. Then in 1980 AD, he migrated to Saudi Arabia and completed his university studies there, then obtained a Master's and PhD in Islamic Law, and after graduation, worked as a teacher in universities of Saudi Arabia until the beginning of 2011 AD. Alongside teaching, he began reading Salafi religious, historical, intellectual, and literary books.


Activities

After the outbreak of conflicts in Syria, he entered Syria for one year and delivered lectures and lessons, and provided whatever help he could to counter the projects of Takfiris (Al-Nusra and ISIS) and stood alongside the protesters and strengthened them. He has described the Syrian government numerous times as a criminal government and announced his support for the rioters and multinational militia forces against Syria. He was one of the scholars who issued a statement against the statement of the Syrian Ministry of Awqaf, in which they objected to the International Union of Muslim Scholars. Al-Wisal TV conducted an interview with him titled: "What do the people of Syria want?"


His Illness

He suffered a heart attack, so his children and loved ones helped him go to a hospital in Istanbul.


Death

Sheikh Khalid Kindo died on the evening of Sunday 26/2/1440 AH corresponding to 4 November 2018 AD in the city of Istanbul, Turkey, and was buried in his burial place (Kalyous Cemetery).
