Hossein Salami is the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran from 1398 SH to present. Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, faculty member of the National Defense University, Commander of the IRGC Air Force, Deputy Chief of Operations of the IRGC Joint Staff, Commander of DAFOS University, Head of Operations at Nooh Naval Headquarters during the Iran-Iraq War are among his records. Biography

Major General Hossein Salami was born in 1339 SH in Vanshan Village, Golpayegan County.

Education

In 1357 SH, coinciding with the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, he was admitted to the Mechanical Engineering department of Iran University of Science and Technology, but with the outbreak of the Imposed War and the start of the Cultural Revolution, he joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and after the end of the war, he completed the Command and Staff University course and graduated with a master's degree in Defense Management. He is currently a faculty member of the National Defense University and a professor at the IRGC Command and Staff University.

Frontline Service

General Salami joined the Isfahan IRGC with the outbreak of the Imposed War and the start of the Cultural Revolution. During the eight years of the Imposed War, he was one of the IRGC commanders and participated in various operations, and spent part of his service period in the border areas of the western front and in Kurdistan.

The responsibilities of Major General Salami from the time of the Imposed War to present in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran are as follows:

The Supreme Leader, His Excellency Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, in a decree expressing gratitude for the valuable and lasting services of Major General Pasdar Jaafari in the command of the IRGC, appointed General Hossein Salami with the rank of Major General to the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the first of Ordibehesht 1398 SH.

Brigadier General Hossein Salami

Considering the expressed necessity of change in the IRGC command by Major General Pasdar Mohammad Ali Jaafari and with gratitude for a decade of valuable, voluminous, and lasting service by him, given your merits and valuable experiences in macro-management and various responsibilities of the revolutionary, jihadi, and people's institution of the IRGC, I appoint you with the rank of Major General to the Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

It is expected that the comprehensive enhancement of capabilities and readiness in all sections, as well as strengthening the inner essence of the IRGC, namely piety and insight, and also the expansion of management benefiting from spiritual strength and expertise capabilities and cultural elevation which was addressed in General Jaafari's management, be increased with your initiatives and the IRGC take long steps in its movement towards perfection.

We do not lead the country toward War but we fear no war and we tell America to speak with proper language in facing the Iranian nation, we are powerful enough to break them several times and we are not worried.

Reaction to the Martyrdom of Lieutenant General Martyr Soleimani

The Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps in Dey 1398 SH, during speeches at the farewell ceremony with the body of Martyr Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani in Azadi Square Kerman in response to the slogans of attendees for revenge taking the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Soleimani stating that Martyr Qasem Soleimani took piety from Abu Dharr expressed: He was and is Abu Dharr and took loyalty from Hazrat Abulfazl and proved this loyalty and love for Islam and Velayat and dear Iran.
