Ahmad Dastmalchian was born in Tehran in 1957. He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983. Dastmalchian is a member of the approximation unions affiliated with the World Assembly for Approximation between Islamic Schools of Thought. He has served as the Ambassador of Iran to Lebanon and Jordan, as well as Chargé d'affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Riyadh.
