Ākhūnd Mullā Bāqir Iskūʾī was a distinguished Shaykhi scholar in [[Karbala]], and the sons of Sayyid Kāẓim Rashtī studied under him. After Sayyid Kāẓim's death, he claimed succession to him. Since he authored a book titled ''Iḥqāq al-Ḥaqq wa Ibṭāl al-Bāṭil'' (The Vindication of Truth and the Refutation of Falsehood) in refutation of Ḥājj Muḥammad Karīm Khān Kirmānī, his descendants adopted the surname Iḥqāqī, and his followers came to be known as the Shaykhi Iḥqāqīyah. Iḥqāqīyah is a branch of the Shaykhi school and comprises the followers of Mullā Bāqir Oskūʾī.

History

Ākhūnd Mullā Bāqir Iskūʾī was a distinguished Shaykhi scholar in Karbala, and the sons of Sayyid Kāẓim Rashtī studied under him. After Sayyid Kāẓim's death, he claimed succession to him. Since he authored a book titled Iḥqāq al-Ḥaqq wa Ibṭāl al-Bāṭil (The Vindication of Truth and the Refutation of Falsehood) in refutation of Ḥājj Muḥammad Karīm Khān Kirmānī, his descendants adopted the surname Iḥqāqī, and his followers came to be known as the Shaykhi Iḥqāqīyah. This group currently resides in Azerbaijan, Karbala, and Kuwait[1].
