Draft:Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri

Mohammad Abu al-Khair Shukri, who was born in 1961 in Damascus, is a university professor, orator, lawyer, legal consultant, and social-political activist. He is a member of the "Association of Scholars of Sham" and the founder and president of the "Khair Sham Social Association" in Damascus, as well as the vice-president of the "Society for Dialogue Among Civilizations."

Education

His educational background is as follows:

• He earned his Master's degree in Islamic and Legal Studies in 2005 from the University of Lahore. His thesis was titled "The Proof by Testimony between Jurisprudence and Law."
• He obtained his Ph.D. in Jurisprudence and International Law in 2010 from the Academic Institute of Advocacy in Beirut. His dissertation was titled "Children's Rights between Islamic Sharia and International Legislation."
• He received his license in Law in 1992 from the University of Damascus.
• He also received a license in Arabic Language and Islamic Studies from the Faculty of Islamic Da'wah in Tripoli.

Activities

The most significant activities he has undertaken are as follows:

• Teaching "International Humanitarian Law" and "Labor Law" at the University of Omdurman, Damascus branch;
• Teaching the principles of Islamic jurisprudence at the Higher Institute of Sham for Islamic Studies in Damascus;
• Serving as the orator at the Shafi'i Grand Mosque in Al-Mazzeh, Damascus;
• The former orator at the Umayyad Mosque;
• The former director of the "Badr al-Din al-Hasani Association.";
• Teaching law at the Damascus Bar Association;
• The member of the "National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces";
• The president of the "Syrian Council for Local Peace";
• The head of the Supreme Hajj Committee in the National Coalition;
• The member of the board of trustees of "the Association of Scholars of Sham - Turkey";
• The member of the board of trustees of "the Islamic Council of Syria-Turkey."
