Status of The Islamic Conference Organization

The Islamic Conference Organization is a relatively new international organization to have come to the world political arena. It is a body of forty-three Islamic States (two currently under suspension).

Objective of the article

This study was an attempt to understand the basis of the inception of this Islamic international organization and its political and educational policies for a period of twelve years (1969-1981).

Methodology

This was being attempted in the light of the record of the ICO by analytically looking at its resolutions and declarations adopted during the course of its deliberations. A review of the agenda items and resolutions passed indicated a consistency of several concepts and political issues that emerge as important and vital to all member states of the ICO.
