Haqqani Network, is another branch of the Taliban in Afghanistan which is also known as the Miranshah Council. This network separated from the Quetta Shura in 2007 AD and declared independence. This group is among Afghan extremist groups based in Pakistan. Its operational forces and social base continued their attacks against the Afghan government and occupiers within the territory of Afghanistan.

History
During the invasion of Soviet forces in 1979 AD to Afghanistan to assist the communist government in the country, Haqqani was a prominent figure in the Mujahideen network and was considered a valuable asset for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). He received significant aid from the United States and Pakistan in line with activities against the communist government of Afghanistan and the Soviet Union. With this support and help from financial supporters from the Islamic world, Haqqani was able to establish his own group, the Haqqani Network, in 1980 AD.

Leadership
Jalaluddin Haqqani, born in Paktia and belonging to the Zadran tribe of the Pashtun ethnic group, is a graduate of Darul Uloom Haqqania school affiliated with Darul Uloom Deoband. Mawlawi is an honorary title that Jalaluddin obtained after graduating from Darul Uloom Haqqania.

Relations with Al-Qaeda and the US
Jalaluddin Haqqani had closeness with Arab-Afghan Muslim militant groups during this period and through this channel became acquainted with Osama bin Laden, the founder of the Al-Qaeda network. It is said that in 1987 AD, Republican Senator "Charlie Wilson" traveled to eastern Afghanistan and was a guest of Jalaluddin Haqqani for 4 days. Haqqani also enjoyed very exceptional and close relations with the CIA, which brought a flood of financial and military aid including Stinger shoulder-fired missiles for Haqqani fighters, missiles that downed dozens of Soviet aircraft, but with the occupation of Afghanistan by the US, this friendship turned into enmity until it reached its peak with the attack on the headquarters of Osama bin Laden, the former leader of Al-Qaeda, such that two weeks after bin Laden's killing, Haqqani attacked the US military base in Bagram.

Social Base
The Haqqanis are originally of Afghan Pashtuns and from the Zadran tribe who are ideologically Deobandi and very extremist regarding Shia. This group has a network nature due to fundamental ties with the Global Front of Fighters including Al-Qaeda, Quetta Shura, etc. Although it has defined its goals in Afghanistan, the consequences of their extremism have undoubtedly had and will have destructive effects on the region. The Haqqani Network has significant influence in Miranshah in the Aiduk tribe, and about 58 percent of the youth who supported the Haqqani group and Jihad were from the Miranshah region and from this tribe. The main tribes of North Waziristan including Dawar, Sayed Gi, Osman Zai Wazir, Ghurbaz, Kharsin, and Malakshi have also been hospitable hosts for members of the Haqqani Network, Al-Qaeda elements, and foreign fighters. The social base of the Haqqani Network is mainly the Pashtun ethnic group, Zadran tribe, and most of its fighters are youths whose fathers fought alongside Jalaluddin Haqqani against Soviet forces. Of course, tribal rivalries have in some cases eroded the social power of this group.
