Salah Shadi was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

Biography
He was born in 1921 AD in the city of Cairo into a wealthy family. After completing primary and secondary education, he continued his military studies. He graduated as a police officer. He joined the Muslim Brotherhood in 1942 AD and was trained by its first Guide, Imam Hassan al-Banna. He continued his work as a police officer and called people to righteousness, arousing determination in them and encouraging them to strive for the religion of God and seek His pleasure.

Education
One of his friends narrates: "When I went to Egypt for studies, I knew Salah Shadi, where he was with a group of his brothers: Hassan Ashmawi, Abdullah Hilmi, Munir al-Dallah, Salah Abu Ruqayq, and others who formed a group of responsible brothers with whom I was in contact. Then, after graduation and my departure from Egypt, contact was cut off, where Jamal Abdel Nasser launched his oppressive campaign against the people. He arrested the Muslim Brotherhood and thousands of them led by Brotherhood leaders, including Salah Shadi, responsible for the administration of units and police."

After the death of that ruler, I went to Egypt and after being released from prison, I became acquainted with the brothers and my teachers, including Brother Salah Shadi, whom I met several times in the office of the third General Guide Umar al-Tilmisani and the houses of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Exile and Death Sentence
In the calamity of 1948 AD, when Brotherhood forces were arrested; he was not arrested, but the authorities agreed to exile him from Cairo to the far reaches of Upper Egypt as a sugar factory officer in "Nag Hammadi". This did not prevent him from continuing the call to God, and in 1954 AD, following the fabricated Manshiya incident, he was arrested and subjected to severe torture. He remained patient and did not lose his resolve, and was forcibly sentenced to death for the crime of interfering in regime matters.

Death
Major General Salah Shadi died in 1989 AD on the same day that his teacher Hassan al-Banna had died forty years earlier.
