Birth
Ahmad Motevaselian was born on 15 Farvardin 1332 SH in one of the neighborhoods of southern تهران. He completed his elementary education at Mostafavi Islamic Elementary School and while studying, helped his father in the confectionery business in the Tehran Bazaar. Ahmad was very reclusive in childhood. After finishing elementary school, he entered the industrial high school and obtained his diploma in 1351 SH. He was then conscripted for military service and passed the tank specialization course in Shiraz, and afterwards, was dispatched to Sarpol-e Zahab. He was admitted to the Iran University of Science and Technology in electronic engineering in 1356 SH.

Pre-Islamic Revolution Activities
Haj Ahmad Motevaselian had religious and political activities during his military service and expressed his opposition to the حکومت پهلوی. After completing his military service, he was employed in a private facilities company and after a few months, was transferred to Khorramabad and continued his political-propaganda activities. In 1354 SH, he was arrested by a team from the SAVAK Joint Anti-Sabotage Committee and sent to prison, and was imprisoned for five months in a solitary cell in Falak-ol-Aflak Prison in Khorramabad. After being released from prison, in قم and Tabriz in 1356 SH, he took on the role of liaison and coordinator of demonstrations in the southern neighborhoods of Tehran. After the 1979 Iranian Revolution, he took responsibility for forming the کمیته انقلاب اسلامی of his locality. After the formation of the سپاه پاسداران انقلاب اسلامی, he joined this organization

After the start of the uprisings in کردستان in Esfand 1357 SH, he voluntarily went to Bokan and went to Saqqez and Baneh. Afterwards, he headed to Sanandaj to liberate the city. In early Khordad 1359 SH, responsibility for the Marivan IRGC was assigned to him.

In the Sacred Defense
In Dey 1360 SH, Operation Mohammad Rasulollah was led from the Marivan and Paveh axes onto the Khormal region by him and Martyr Ebrahim Hemmat, which operation is considered the cornerstone of the establishment of the 27th Rasulollah Brigade. Ahmad in 1360 SH after returning from the حج pilgrimage, was assigned by Mohsen Rezai (Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC) to command the Marivan and Paveh IRGC Mohammad Rasulollah Brigade. He went to the southern fronts along with Martyr Borujerdi
On the night of 10 Ordibehesht 1361 SH, Operation Beit ol-Moqaddas began under the command of Ahmad Motevaselian from the Darkhovin region towards the Ahvaz-Khorramshahr road, which led to the liberation of Khorramshahr.

In Lebanon
In late Khordad 1361 SH, by order of Mohsen Rezai, the then commander of the IRGC, and with the approval of the Supreme Leader who at that time held the responsibility of the presidency, in the midst of the Iran-Iraq War, he was dispatched to سوریه along with a number of fighters to go from there to southern لبنان to aid Hezbollah Lebanon and fight against Israel. After being selected to go to Lebanon and before boarding the plane and at the foot of the plane stairs, he gives a speech to his forces. In part of his speech, he tells the forces: "Israel must be wiped from the world and you great men must put our Imam's words into practice." While Mohsen Rezai later announced that when Imam Khomeini (RA) became aware of the matter, he expressed dissatisfaction; therefore, the order to return was given to the dispatched forces. Motevaselian went to بیروت to investigate the latest situation with the accompaniment of Sayyid Mohsen Mousavi (Charge d'Affaires of Iran in Lebanon) and return to Iran, but no reliable news about his fate and his companions has been available to this day.

Kidnapping
According to Mansour Koochak Mohseni, a guard and one of Motevaselian's assistants in Lebanon, Motevaselian, given his major role in the liberation of Khorramshahr, was dispatched to سوریه at the head of a group from the IRGC (along with a group from the Iranian Army) only a few weeks after the liberation of Khorramshahr. After Motevaselian coordinated various groups that later formed Hezbollah Lebanon, given the insistence of Imam Khomeini (RA) on limiting IRGC intervention in لبنان and focusing Iranian military forces on the war with Iraq, it was decided that Motevaselian would return to Iran. After the end of a meeting on 13 Tir in بعلبک in which Motevaselian's return was communicated to the Lebanese groups, Sayyid Mohsen Mousavi, Charge d'Affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, given the completion of Motevaselian's mission and his decision to return on Tuesday [15 Tir 1361 SH], suggested that Motevaselian go with him and using the embassy car to Beirut and take a tour and at the end prepare a report for the Leader of Iran or another person. Finally, it was decided that Motevaselian would leave Baalbek at 8 AM on 14 Tir destined for Beirut. Around 2 PM, news of Motevaselian's arrest reached the Iranian group
سمیر جعجع one of the leaders of the Phalangists after being released from prison confessed that the Iranian hostages were handed over to his forces and then killed by them, but Iranian officials have considered this claim suspicious.

Exchange Proposal
Hojjat al-Islam Musa Fakhr Rouhani, who was responsible for the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon at the time of the hostage-taking, states that عماد مغنیه and his group kidnapped David S. Dodge, president of the دانشگاه آمریکایی بیروت in retaliation for the kidnapping of the four Iranian diplomats in Lebanon. He also introduces Dodge as the CIA chief in the خاورمیانه. Mansour Koochak-Mohseni, one of the guards dispatched to Syria and Lebanon, has also mentioned that two youths, one of whom resembled Imad Mughniyeh, kidnapped Dodge, who was the president of their university, to be exchanged with Ahmad Motevaselian. At that time, Qasem Mirzaei Niko was responsible for Motevaselian's release. It was supposed to exchange David Dodge, a high-ranking CIA member in the Middle East, with Motevaselian and other hostages: "He had very deep information that was extracted from him until one day just when we were close to a result, all plans were ruined." Mohsen Rafiqdoust was made responsible by Mohsen Rezai for capturing David Dodge and eventually captured him. Niko says that he told Mohsen Rezai that "Rafiqdoust is moving towards taking weapons in exchange for this man, not the release of Ahmad and other hostages! Mohsen Rezai also said that we are currently under pressure and need weapons and must coordinate with the Syrians." Finally, based on Niko's statements, on the designated day "Mohsen Rafiqdoust and David Dodge went towards a MiG that they were piloting and the Syrians also came and took Mr. Dodge and in exchange, released 21 Syrian officers and also gave us some weapons that we wanted and thus our hands were shortened and the dates remained on the palm tree." Niko says that "I still tell Mohsen Rezai that you caused Ahmad not to be released and this exchange not to take place." Niko also says that during the war Motevaselian "had severe criticism of Mohsen (Rezai) and could not work with him at all."

Ali Qanbari, who was among the forces dispatched for Motevaselian's release in Lebanon, also says that until one day before the exchange, Motevaselian was among the intended individuals until a person who considered himself the new responsible for the hostage exchange from Mohsen Rezai told the previous responsible that he must return to Iran and they would do the exchange work themselves. On the same day, the previous responsible was returned to Iran and was not allowed to be present at the scene on the day of the hostage exchange. On the day of the hostage exchange, since the Israeli side saw the Iranian side's unwillingness to take Motevaselian, he and his companions were returned to Israel

News Regarding the Discovery of Their Bodies
After 38 years from the incident of the kidnapping of the four Iranian diplomats, it was confirmed that Ahmad Motevaselian and his three companions "Sayyid Mohsen Mousavi", "Taqi Rastegar Moghaddam" and "Kazem Akhavan" after being kidnapped and spending a short time in captivity of Phalangist militia forces, were shot on the Mediterranean coast and their burial place is also specified
