Bahjat Ghayth (1939 – 23 May 2016) was a [[Druze]] [[Lebanon|Lebanese]] religious scholar and Sheikh Aql of the Druze Muwahhidun community in [[Lebanon]] from 24 September 1991 to 5 November 2006, after Muhammad Abu Shuqra and before Naim Hassan.<br />

==Birth and education==<br />
Bahjat Ghayth was born in 1939 in Niha, in the Chouf region, into a prominent family. He received his primary education at the village school, and afterwards went to the state school in the village of Amatour, completing elementary school in 1953 and middle school in 1956.<br />

==Joining the Lebanese Army==<br />
Due to the difficult financial situation of his farming family, Ghayth administratively joined the Lebanese Army and was able to complete his high school education at an evening school in [[Beirut]]; however, after the 1958 Lebanon crisis, he was unable to participate in the official exam and remained at his service location in northern Lebanon for nearly a year.<br />

==Leaving the Army==<br />
As the economic situation worsened, he resigned from the army and traveled to Liberia, [[Africa]], where he traded with his brother for five years and saved some money, then returned to his homeland, Lebanon, and worked on reviving agricultural land. He then left the country and traveled to the [[Persian Gulf]], where he established the Al-Jaber Contracting Company and achieved successes in his work, deciding to leave the business field in 1980 to return home.<br />

==Ascending to the Position of Sheikh of the Clan==<br />
In late 1991, when the illness of the Sheikh Aql of the Muwahhidun clan, Muhammad Abu Shuqra, worsened and he was unable to perform his duties, the position of Sheikh of the Clan was transferred to Bahjat Ghayth with written guardianship. <br />

He married Umayyah Sa'id Wahhab and had four children named Shadi, Shadia, Ghada, and Tahir. <br />
