Ali Ardeshir Larijani was born on 3 June 1957 (CE), in [[Najaf]], into a religious and prominent family. He spent his elementary education at Adib School and his secondary education at Sadr High School in [[Qom]].

==Education==

Larijani obtained his bachelor's degree from [[Sharif University of Technology]] in Mathematics and Computer Science, ranking first. He then continued his studies in Philosophy at the [[University of Tehran]] and received his PhD in Philosophy. He is currently a faculty member of the [[University of Tehran]] and was a student of [[Morteza Motahhari|Martyr Morteza Motahhari]], and is his son-in-law.

==Islamic Revolution Era==

In the early days of the victory of the [[Islamic Revolution|Islamic Revolution of Iran]], through consultation with Martyr Motahhari, he joined the [[Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting|IRIB]] and began his activities there. During the [[Iran–Iraq War|Sacred Defense]], he joined the [[Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps|IRGC]] and served in positions such as Deputy of the IRGC and Deputy Chief of the IRGC General Staff until 1992 CE.

Dr. Larijani was the head of the [[Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting|IRIB]] for more than a decade.
