He is regarded as one of the most prominent reformist and social figures in the city of Irbid. He is the father of Nabil al-Kufahi, who was elected mayor of Irbid in 1999 CE. Ahmad al-Kufahi himself ran twice in the parliamentary and municipal elections for the city of Irbid in 2007.&lt;br /&gt;
