He was born on the 3rd of Dhu al-Hijjah, 1298 AH, corresponding to October 27, 1881 CE, in Mecca, and was raised under the care of his father, Alawi ibn Ahmad al-Saqqaf, the elder of the Alawis of [[Mecca]]. In addition to the specialized education he received from his father, he also benefited from the presence of the scholars of Mecca at that time. He memorized the [[Quran|Holy Quran]] and studied the encyclopedic scientific works authored by his father. == Executive Career ==&lt;br /&gt;
In 1916, he joined the Great Arab Revolt led by Sharif Hussein bin Ali and was appointed head of his office. Due to his connection with his father&amp;#039;s book &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Tarshih al-Mustafidin fi Fiqh al-Shafi&amp;#039;iyya&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, he earned the title &amp;quot;Head of the Court of Ibn Sahib al-Tarshih.&amp;quot; He continued serving as head of the royal court of King Ali bin al-Hussein until 1926 CE. Following the fall of the Hashemite Kingdom of the [[Hejaz]] to the Saudi state in that year, he was arrested and sentenced to death; however, the sentence was later commuted to exile in the city of Aden, [[Yemen]], where he spent many years.
