== Birth and Upbringing ==

== Migration ==
When conditions in Hadhramaut became difficult, Abd al-Malik suggested to his father that they migrate to India and establish a trade base for the family, as family members were forced to leave Hadhramaut at that time. His father agreed, and Abd al-Malik and his companions went to the port of al-Shihr, boarded a ship there, and headed to Gujarat, India, in the late 6th century AH (12th century CE). He chose to go to Gujarat due to the presence of large [[Muslim]] communities there, and since the conquest of India and Sindh by Muslims, it had become a major trade center linking trade routes to [[China]], those countries, and the Sulu Islands.

After arriving in Gujarat, he met with Arab merchants residing there and agreed with them to cooperate in maritime trade with India and China. He delegated his position to his son Abdullah to pursue business affairs, and himself turned to Islamic missionary work and connecting with the courts of princes and sultans to strengthen his relationship with the rulers of India. He was able to establish a strong relationship with Sultan Nasiruddin Shah, who, upon learning of his noble lineage tracing back to the Household of the Prophet, brought him close, made him one of his loyalists, and even granted him the title of Prince.

== Children ==
He had four children. Two daughters: Zainab and Fatimah, and two sons: Abdullah and Alawi, whose offspring migrated to the cities of al-Sanf and East India, and Alawi and his offspring spread throughout India.

== Death ==
He died in Nasirabad, India.
